Nikki and Damion’s wedding day at the Alderman House in Fort Myers, Florida was the perfect mix of fashion-forward portraits, vibrant color, and candid moments that made the day feel completely their own.
The Alderman House is such a beautiful Fort Myers wedding venue, with historic character, dreamy outdoor spaces, and so many textured backdrops that photograph beautifully. For Nikki and Damion’s day, I leaned into a more editorial approach while still preserving the real, documentary moments that unfolded naturally throughout the day.
From the beginning of the day through the celebration with their favorite people, Nikki and Damion’s wedding was filled with personality and so much joy. I wanted their gallery to feel elevated and intentional, but never overly posed—mixing directed, fashion-inspired portraits with the in-between moments that tell the full story of a wedding day.
I used daylight flash throughout the day to create bold, vibrant images with a polished feel, while still keeping everything true to the energy of the moment. The result was a collection of photos that feels modern and unique, yet timeless enough to look back on for years to come.
Alongside digital photography, I also captured parts of Nikki and Damion’s day on 35mm film. Film brings such a special softness and texture to a wedding gallery, adding another layer to the story and preserving the emotion of the day in a way that feels nostalgic and effortless.
The mix of film photography, daylight flash, and candid storytelling was the perfect fit for the Alderman House’s character and for the energy Nikki and Damion brought to their wedding day.
Nikki and Damion were truly the sweetest couple, and the love they have for the people around them was felt all day. Their intimate sit-down dinner with about 65 guests felt so personal and welcoming—every guest was made to feel like family.
It also happened to be my birthday, and they went out of their way to make me feel so celebrated and included. It was incredibly sweet and such a special reflection of the kind of people they are.
Their portraits had a fashion-focused feel while still feeling like them—natural, connected, and full of movement. We created space for beautiful editorial images, but the candid hugs, laughter, and celebration with their loved ones were just as important.
Nikki and Damion, thank you for trusting me to capture your wedding day. It was such an honor to document every part of it, from the big moments to the ones you may not have even realized were happening.
If you’re planning an Alderman House wedding in Fort Myers, Florida—or getting married anywhere in Southwest Florida—and are looking for photography that feels refined, vibrant, editorial, and true to your day, I would love to hear from you.
